Brand Identity Brand identity design agency

A brand identity is the set of decisions that makes your business look and sound the same on a website, a box, a pitch deck and a distributor’s stand. We make those decisions, then write them down so other people can use them.

For founders and marketing teams who sell in more than one market, are launching a new brand, or have outgrown the first logo.

A logo is not a brand, and the gap shows.

Many businesses have a logo and little else. Every designer, printer and agency then makes its own choices: a slightly different blue, a different font, a different tone on LinkedIn. Each choice is fine alone. Together the brand looks like several small companies.

An identity makes those choices once. It covers what the brand says and to whom, how it looks in each language, and what is allowed and what is not. When you sell across borders, the written rules matter more, because the people applying them are in other time zones and will not stop to ask.

What an identity is used for

  • Launching a new brand or product line
  • Rebranding after growth or a merger
  • Entering a new market or language
  • Briefing printers, agencies and distributors
  • Onboarding new marketing staff

What you get

You get a clear direction, a logo system, colours, type and voice, applied to the pieces you need first, with guidelines your team and suppliers can follow.

  1. Brand Direction

What the brand stands for, who it speaks to and how it differs from competitors, written on a page your team can repeat.

  2. Logo System

The main logo with its secondary versions, an icon and Arabic and Latin lockups where you need both.

  3. Colour & Typography

The palette with codes for screen and print, and the typefaces for headings and body text in each language you use.

  4. Brand Voice

How the brand sounds: tone, words to use and avoid, and sample lines for a post, a proposal and a sign, in each language.

  5. Applications

The identity applied to the pieces you actually need: stationery, signage, social templates, packaging, a presentation.

  6. Brand Guidelines

A guidelines document and organised files, so suppliers, printers and new staff apply the brand without calling us.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Discovery

Your business, customers, competitors and what is wrong with how the brand looks and sounds today.

  2. Step 2: Direction

The positioning in plain words and a few visual routes to react to. You choose one, or tell us what to combine.

  3. Step 3: Build

The logo system, colours, type and voice, then applied to the real pieces in your scope and tested in each language.

  4. Step 4: Guidelines and hand over

A clear guidelines document, the final files and the templates, ready for your team and your suppliers.

Questions

How much does brand identity design cost?

It depends on the scope: how much direction work is needed, the number of languages, how many applications you want designed (stationery, signage, packaging, social templates), the guidelines depth and the timeline. Send a short brief and we quote a fixed scope, so you know what is included before you commit.

What is the difference between a logo and a brand identity?

A logo is one mark. An identity is the system around it: positioning, colours, typefaces, voice, imagery rules and how all of it is applied. A logo tells people who you are. An identity keeps you recognisable on every piece you produce afterwards.

How long does an identity project take?

Longer than a logo, because direction, system and applications are built in order. The proposal carries dates for each stage. The usual delay is late sign-off, so name the decision maker at the start.

Is this a rebrand or a new brand, and does it change the process?

The stages are the same, the starting point is not. For a new brand we start from positioning. For a rebrand we first look at what customers already recognise and decide what to keep, so the change does not confuse people who know you.

How many revisions are included?

The proposal sets the rounds for each stage. Revisions refine the direction you chose. A change of direction after it is approved is a new scope, and we say so at the start rather than at the end.

Who owns the identity and the files?

You do. Ownership of the approved identity and the working files is agreed in writing in the proposal, and the source files are in your hand-over when they are in scope.

Can the identity work in Arabic and English?

Yes, and we plan both from the start. The logo, the typefaces and the voice are developed for each language, so the Arabic version is designed and not a translation of the English one.

Will you design applications like packaging and stationery?

Yes, those in the scope you agree: stationery, signage, social templates, packaging, a presentation or a website. Each is listed in the proposal. Production, such as printing or fabrication, is arranged with your supplier.

Will our suppliers actually be able to follow the guidelines?

That is the test we write for. The guidelines are short, show what to do and what not to do, and include the files and codes a printer or sign maker asks for, so it does not depend on one person remembering.

Do we need a trademark for the new identity?

Registration is a legal step for an IP lawyer or the trademark office in each market. Check the name and the logo against existing marks before you commit. We supply the clean artwork they ask for.
