Annual Report Design Annual report design services

An annual report is read by people who decide things: board members, investors, regulators, donors, future staff. We design and edit it so the year is clear to them, while every figure stays yours to own and approve.

For listed and family companies, government entities, banks, universities and non profits publishing an annual, sustainability or impact report.

A year of work, presented as a pile of tables.

Annual reports are often assembled in a rush after the year closes: each department sends text in its own style, the figures arrive last, and the designer has a few weeks to make it all fit. The result is long, repetitive and hard to scan, and the story of the year is lost between the tables.

We start with structure: what the year meant, which sections carry it and how the figures support it. Narrative pages and the template are designed while the numbers are being finalised, so the report is not squeezed at the end. Your finance and sustainability teams supply and approve every figure; we edit the words and present the data clearly.

What you get

You get a page plan and storyline first, a cover and layout system in your brand, charts built from the figures you approve, and print, PDF and web files.

  1. Report Structure

A page plan and a storyline for the year: what the reader should take away, which sections carry it, and where the figures sit.

  2. Editing & Writing Support

Editing of the chairman’s and chief executive’s messages and the narrative sections, plus writing support where drafts are thin. You approve every text.

  3. Cover & Layout Design

A cover and a layout system in your brand: section dividers, text pages, case stories and data pages that hold together across the whole report.

  4. Charts & Infographics

Your figures and performance indicators shown as charts, tables and infographics. Your team supplies and approves every number; we present it.

  5. Arabic & English Editions

An Arabic edition set right to left and an English edition in the same design, with tables and charts that read correctly in each direction.

  6. Print, PDF & Web Files

Press files checked with your printer, a light PDF with bookmarks and links, and pages or images for the web when the report goes online.

Year end coming, and the report is still a folder of drafts?

Send last year’s report and your timeline. We reply with questions and a scoped quote.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Brief

Who this year’s report is for, the sections and any reporting framework you follow, last year’s report, and who approves the content and the figures.

  2. Step 2: Structure

We propose the page plan, the storyline and the cover direction, and agree a schedule that allows for late audited figures.

  3. Step 3: Design

The template and narrative pages first, then the figures placed once your team signs them off. One combined set of comments per round.

  4. Step 4: Hand over

Final proofs approved by you, press files, the PDF and web assets, and the open files for next year.

Questions

How much does annual report design cost?

It depends on the scope: the page count, how much editing and writing support you need, the number of charts and infographics, Arabic and English editions, print and web versions, and the timeline. Send last year’s report and we quote a fixed scope.

Who is responsible for the financial figures?

You are. Your finance team and auditors supply and approve every figure and table. We design and edit; we do not prepare, audit or change financial information, and nothing goes to print without your sign off.

Do you write the report?

We edit and support the writing: the messages from leadership, section introductions and stories from the year, based on interviews and drafts from your team. Your team approves every text.

Can you design a sustainability or ESG report?

Yes. If you report against a framework, your sustainability team or adviser maps the content to it; we structure and design the report so readers find what they look for. We do not assess or assure the data.

Can you design only the cover?

Yes, a cover alone or a cover with a template your team fills in. We explain what each option means for the inside pages before you decide.

Can you work with late figures?

Yes, and we plan for it. The template, cover and narrative pages come first; the figures go in once they are approved, so the final weeks are for checking, not designing.

Do you produce a web version?

Yes: a light PDF with bookmarks and links, images for social media, and pages or content for your website, or a microsite built by our development team.

Can we reuse the design next year?

Yes. You get the open files and a template, so next year’s report starts from a system rather than a blank page.

Tell us about this year’s report.

A short brief is enough to start: the type of report, the expected length, the languages, print or digital, and the date it must be published. We reply with questions and a fixed scope quote.
