How much does 3D rendering cost in Saudi Arabia?
What sets the cost of 3D rendering in Saudi Arabia: views, interior or exterior, the model, detail, 360 views, revisions and deadline.
Ask five studios in Riyadh or Jeddah what a 3D render costs and you will get five very different answers. Some quote per view, some per square metre, some per project, and a few send a number before they have seen a single drawing. It is hard to tell which quote is fair and which one has simply left work out.
This guide has no price list. A figure in an article would be wrong for your project. Instead it explains what actually moves the cost of 3D rendering, why we quote per view or per scope rather than per metre, and how to brief so the quotes you receive can be compared line by line.
Why “price per metre” rarely fits rendering
Searches like «سعر متر تصميم 3d في السعودية» show how many people expect a rate per square metre. That rate makes sense for interior design or fit-out, where the work grows with the floor area. Rendering works differently. The effort sits in each camera view: the modelling it needs, the materials and light, the people and landscaping, and the retouching at the end.
A villa of modest size can need a front facade by day and by night, a majlis, a family living room and a kitchen. A large warehouse may need one exterior view from the street. Charging by area would overprice the first and underprice the second. So we quote 3D rendering per view or per agreed scope, and every line in the quote names the view it pays for.
The factors that move a rendering quote
Number of views. This is the biggest single factor. Each still is its own camera, its own lighting set up and its own retouching. Five views of one building are not five times one view, because the model is shared, but each extra view is real work. Decide which views will actually be used in your brochure, hoarding or sales screen before you ask for quotes.
Exterior or interior. Exterior views need the building, the site, the sky, the street and often the neighbours. Interior views need furniture, fabrics, lighting fixtures and decor chosen piece by piece. Neither is automatically cheaper. A plain facade in daylight is lighter work than a furnished majlis, and a detailed stone facade at dusk is heavier than an empty office floor.
Whether a 3D model already exists. If you or your architect have a SketchUp (.skp) or Revit (.rvt) model, 2024 version preferred, we start from it. If you only have AutoCAD (DWG) or PDF drawings, we build the model first, and that modelling time is part of the quote. Our checklist of files to send for 3D rendering explains what helps.
Level of detail. A tender or concept image can be clean and simple. A sales image for an off-plan villa usually needs real material detail: stone joints, wood grain, the pattern of a mashrabiya screen, the reflection on glass. The closer the camera and the larger the print, the more detail the model and textures need.
Landscaping, people and setting. Palms, planting, cars, shaded parking, children in a courtyard, a family at the entrance. Every one of these makes a render feel lived in, and every one is work. In the Gulf, people and settings that look local matter, so we choose clothing, cars and planting that suit Saudi and Bahraini buyers.
Villas and facades. Searches such as «سعر تصميم فيلا 3d» are common, and villa projects have their own factors: the facade material, the boundary wall, the gate, the pool, day and night versions. Our page on villa facade visualisation covers how we show a design your architect has drawn.
Apartments and interiors. For «تكلفة تصميم شقة 3d», the scope is the rooms you want shown. A single living room and a full apartment of every room are very different jobs, even inside the same floor plan.
Animation and 360 views. A walkthrough film, a drone style flyover or a 360 rotatable reuses the model but adds camera paths, many more frames, editing and music. These are quoted as their own lines. See 3D animation and virtual tours for what a film or tour includes.
Revisions. Revision rounds are included in every quote, at camera, draft and final stage. What changes the cost is a change to the design itself after modelling, such as a new facade option or a different layout. We raise that before work continues, so it never appears as a surprise on the invoice.
Deadline. A launch date or a tender deadline that cannot move may mean more people working on the views at once. Tell us the real date and what sets it. A full set typically takes 30 to 40 days, depending on scope, and complete drawings at the start keep it on track.
Languages and formats. Titles, labels or captions in Arabic and English, vertical cuts for Snapchat and Instagram, and large print files for hoardings all add small amounts of work. List where the images will appear and we size them once.
What a fair rendering quote should show
When quotes arrive, put them side by side and check that each one states:
- Every view by name, interior or exterior, day or night.
- Whether modelling from drawings is included.
- The level of detail, landscaping and people.
- Any 360 rotatables, films or tours as separate lines.
- The revision rounds and what counts as new scope.
- The delivery formats: JPEG stills and MP4 files, and their sizes.
- Who owns the final images.
A quote that leaves several of these blank is not necessarily cheaper. It is often quoting a smaller job.
A note on off-plan renders
If your renders will be used to sell an off-plan project, they are artist’s impressions of a design that is not built yet. Label them that way, and check your sales material with your own legal adviser and the relevant authority before you publish it. We render the design as drawn, and we do not add features that are not in your plans.
Send your drawings for a quote
Send your drawings or model, the list of views you need, and the date that matters through the start a project form. Large files can come as a Drive or WeTransfer link. We reply with questions and a quote for your exact scope, view by view. If you would rather see what we do first, ask for a private portfolio walkthrough on a call, and read how our 3D visualisation work fits together.
Questions
Why do you not quote 3D rendering per square metre?
Because the area of a building tells us very little about the work. A large warehouse can need one simple exterior view, while a small villa can need a detailed majlis, a kitchen and a night facade. We quote per view or per agreed scope, so you can see exactly what each line buys.
Is it cheaper if we already have a 3D model?
Usually it saves work, provided the model is clean and matches the final drawings. A SketchUp or Revit model, 2024 version preferred, is the easiest start. A model with missing walls or old design options still needs time to fix, and we tell you that before quoting.
Are revisions included in the quote?
Yes. Revision rounds are included in every quote, at camera, draft and final stage. A change to the design itself after modelling, such as a new facade or a moved wall, is new scope, and we raise it with you before any work continues.
